Joe Eighnor

Do not confuse with his nephew Joseph Eighner.

Joe moved his family to San Antonio some time in the first decade of the Twentieth century. Although there is a colorful story that his father Gene/John burned the family records in a dispute about the spelling of the family name, it is not really clear that there is great significance to the fact that Joe's name is spelled "Eighnor." It was one of the milder variations of the spelling of the family name, and several other family members used it or had it imposed on them at various times.
