John first shows up in the 1880 census, already married to Louise, and both of them living with Gene/John. In 1900 he and Lousie have been married 23 years and his recently divorced brother-in-law George is living with them, but there is no evidence of George's son Birchel (who is not with his ex-wife either) or any children John and Louise might have had.
It is possible that John was born and died as "Reid," and in any even the obviously needs further work.
